Director General of Food and Drug Administration Conducts Field Visit to Injaz Group's Food Storage Facilities
This morning, we at Injaz Group were honored to host the Director General of the Food and Drug Administration, Professor Dr. Nizar Mahmoud Mheidat, during a field visit to inspect the food storage warehouses of Injaz Supply and Distribution Group. The visit was attended by the Chairman of the Amman and Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Senator Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, and was warmly received by Haj Saleh Al-Shuqirat, Chairman of the Board of Directors, alongside Mr. Wael Saleh Al-Shuqirat, CEO of Injaz Supply and Distribution Group, and Mr. Zuhair Harb, Director General of the General Syndicate of Food Traders.
During the visit, Dr. Mheidat emphasized the institution's commitment to ensuring the smooth flow of food supplies into the local market without obstacles. He highlighted efforts to simplify procedures for food and cosmetic importers as partners in maintaining a secure stockpile of high-quality food products at reasonable prices. He also commended the sector's ability to overcome challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, without any shortages or interruptions in food supply.
Dr. Mheidat praised the company for its outstanding standards, including the use of modern technologies, inventory management and tracking systems, product diversity, and the warehouses' storage capacity. He described the company as a model to be proud of, contributing to food security, supplying essential consumer goods to the local market, and supporting the national economy.
Haj Saleh Al-Shuqirat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Injaz Supply and Distribution Group, expressed his pleasure in hosting the Director General and his delegation. He highlighted the company's dedication to the principles of integrity and self-monitoring, which are instilled in the workforce.
Senator Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, Chairman of the Amman and Jordan Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that food security is a top priority for His Majesty King Abdullah II. He reaffirmed the food trade sector's commitment to maintaining a strategic stockpile of essential food items year-round, particularly in preparation for Ramadan. He also commended Injaz Group for its nearly 40 years of remarkable contributions to food security and its role in meeting citizens' needs.
Mr. Wael Saleh Al-Shuqirat, CEO of Injaz Supply and Distribution Group, reaffirmed the company's dedication to providing high-quality products and services that meet citizens' needs. He emphasized the use of advanced systems and technologies to track food items throughout all stages of supply until they reach the consumer. He also noted that the group is the exclusive agent for dozens of global food brands, including staples like rice, sugar, vegetable oils, powdered milk, frozen chicken, fish, and meat, as well as non-food items imported and distributed to the local market and both civilian and military institutions.
The visit included a tour of the refrigerated and frozen food storage facilities, food packaging and labeling sites, and the transportation vehicles and their maintenance facilities to ensure suitability for distributing food products under the necessary conditions for each item. Additionally, two presentations were delivered: the first on the group's subsidiary companies, their investment scale, and workforce size, and the second on the supply and procurement procedures followed by the group.
